Our Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants (PAs) are highly trained and licensed to practice medicine. PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and in North Carolina can write prescriptions. Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are an integral part of geriatric care in North Carolina.

My interest in the geriatric population began many years ago when my mother was a nurse. I have spent the last 21 years working in Cardiology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, treating patients with acute and chronic illnesses as well as life altering events. As a provider with Physicians Eldercare my goal is to provide excellent and compassionate medical care, while helping to maintain the dignity of this special group of people. As a practicing PA I find the most joy in working with patients who are suffering from Alzheimer’s dementia. The management of patients suffering from this disease is challenging for the medical community. I find it very fulfilling to partner with medical specialists, nurses and social workers as we attempt to help both patients and families through this tumultuous disease state. My ultimate goal is to participate in bringing an awareness of the importance of Alzheimer’s research at both the state and federal level.
